My previous post featured a collage from January featuring a adaptation from a silhouette. My work while at university focused on the foreground, or the positive space, while keeping the background as blank as possibly, influenced by a studio or gallery setting. A developing work situated in this space makes an obvious focal point; during painting, the open place blends into the other surroundings.
My opinion of a definite is that it is to fragment a composure imagined either in future or past that is still bound to an aphorism. Doubt drifts between, inside and of itself, contained within it’s own end.
I also find it useful to take out the foreground to change it’s direction or content. Heres a collage.
